On our second day of driving the car, Prof quickly gained a handle on driving on the left side of the road. We made a trip to a store that Piano Man knew as a large Toys R Us-type store from classmates in school.
When we got there, the words huge, gigantic, colossal couldn’t quite describe the enormity of this massive four-walled structure. One of the moms said it was like a “Toys R Us, Family Dollar, Staples all rolled into one with big rainbow colors thrown up all over it.
When we walked in, it was a huge store with so much to look at. We didn’t know where to begin.
We found school supplies and a whole bunch of toys that looked like there were made and shipped from China. The quality control on some of the items looked a bit sketchy, but there were authentic toys that looked somewhat safe to purchase.
At the back of the store is an outdoor playground. The kids enjoyed it before the weather got too hot.
You can also stand on a bench and look out to the occupied territory in the north.
And if you get hungry or thirsty, you can purchase some snacks. Be sure to bring cash with you.
NOTE: We ended up coming back to this store again and again as the Mavros toy store on Ledras Street ended up closing down by the end of our stay in 2013.
