We visited a different park several weeks ago, but I didn’t know the name of the park until now. It’s been fun driving the boys around to see various parks in the city. Agios Dimitrios Park was the first park that didn’t look run down.
Inside Agios Dimitrios Park
This park was huge! We parked and walked by the running track, soccer field, and mini outdoor sculpture area to get to the playground.
This was also the first time we had seen several Cypriot families spending time together in one place.
It has a track and field for those running enthusiasts, several basketball courts (which can also turn into a soccer field), a water feature, and a nice, graffiti-free playground, see-saw, and slide for the children to play. We noticed more people out and about in the evening, when the weather is much cooler.
Snack Stand
There was a “periptero”, which provided snacks and drinks next to very nice wooden seating for families. It’s best to bring euros to the park, since many snack stands don’t take a credit card.
Playground
We saw this playground from a distance, and I thought, “we hit the jackpot.” This is the place where we can drive out and roam in some green space.
The playground offered plenty of activities for young ones.
Look at all this free space!
Birthday Parties
If you plan on hosting birthday party, you will need to make a reservation and deposit money at the snack stand/periptero. I forgot the price for a deposit, but it was reasonable offer for a birthday party in the park.
We’ll definitely be coming back here for some more play time with the boys.
Don’t you love how the cats roam free in Cyprus?
