Review of Azsia Diskont in Budapest

by Traveling Seouls

When packing for Budapest, I didn’t really pack extra toiletries for our five-month abroad experience. With a population of over a 1.9 million people, surely it would be much easier to buy U.S. goods and supplies than in Cyprus, a much smaller island with only a million people inhabiting the island.

Well, I was wrong. It turned out to be much more cumbersome to buy everything at one store. To get my fresh fruits and vegetables, I had to go to local farmer’s markets. To get my stapled goods, I had to a regular ole’ grocery store. To get my Asian food supplies, I had to go to an Asian market. To get toiletries, it would be better to go to…. hmmm. I am still trying to figure this one out.

I walked by Azsia Diskont, and I thought I would give it a try.

A Look Inside

At first glance, it was packed with all sorts of goods. I had no idea where to start.

But my mind was on finding Asian groceries, so naturally, my eyes turned to find packets of rmane noodles and sauces.

But really, I was missing my favorite shampoo, conditioner, and facial wash products.

While we are hosting college students, several female students in past semester abroad programs mentioned that there were not any feminine tampon products, but here is one brand, O.B. If you’re looking for other feminine hygiene products, it might be difficult to find your favorite brand and style, so this might be something worth bringing from the States before you travel to Hungary.

Holy smokes, Azsia Diskont had so much stuff going on, I felt claustrophobic.

I managed to make it out with a few American products, like my favorite facial wash. Just remember to bring Hungarian cash at the checkout. They don’t take credit cards.
